Iconic Collection-Early Films

don't buy this
the discs are scratched and damaged and don't play well. There is definitely something wrong with quality control at emphasisentertainment. I contacted the manufacturer through their website and they acknowledged the fault and they were so kind to send replacement discs. 2 replacement discs were dvd-r but it is better than nothing...

Digital Restoration my foot
Did I get the wrong DVD-set? It is hard for me to understand the statements of the three reviewers below who each gave 5 stars. In fact I experienced the same as the two reviewers with the 1 and 3 star judgement. I got three scratched DVDs that didn't work. As a replacement I received ... three DVD-r. O.k., this time they worked. There is a remark in the booklet that promises digital restorations of the films and it is repeated in the opening and closing credits of each movie. When I watched "The Eyes of the Mummy Ma" I realized that this is the same print as the Alpha-DVD with the titles replaced by ugly white-on-black ones that don't really fit in. Just compare the first scene that takes place in the desert. And everybody should know by now that you can't sink much lower than Alpha. The most interesting of the films is "Sappho" which is announced as being tinted. Well, it isn't. I own the Grapevine-DVD which in fact contains the tinted version with english titles. O.k., it looks...

disappointment...
I was very excited to see that such a DVD collection of the early Pola Negri's movies had been released. I ordered it all the way from America to Poland as I'm a huge fan of Pola and silent movies in general. Unfortunately all discs are damaged and scratched which must have happened during production. The first disc is so damaged that I lost 8 minutes of the movie, it is impossible to make it work, it stops and I had to fast-foward a lot. I don't recommend it to anyone...

A Light In The Forest

NOT related to the Conrad Richter novel
I teach eighth grade English. The Conrad Richter novel, The Light in the Forest, is a part of our eighth grade curriculum. I purchased this video on the assumption that it was an adaptation of that novel which is about a Caucasian boy who has been raised by Native Americans, and the story of his struggle to fit into the culture of his natural parents. Unfortunately, I did not look beyond the cover which pictures a boy who looks like he is dressed in the manner of a 1700's backwoodsman.

It would be helpful, since the title is identical to the Conrad Richter classic, if Amazon would make some prominent notation that this video is not in any way related to that novel.

A Really Fun Ensemble Cast
This is a really cute movie. One I enjoyed watching with my daughter. I am a Lindsay Wagner fan from way back and I also love Edward Albert. This would be the second time Mr. Albert and Christopher Khayman Lee have worked togther, well, sort of. Chris was Andros the Red Ranger on Power Rangers in Space and Mr. Albert portrayed Mr. Collins, father to Wes, the Red Time Force Ranger.
This movie was better than I had expected it to be. Sometimes when you put many actors and actresses together who haven't done anything in a while you usually get junk. Watching Ms. Wagner, always a pleasure, play the understanding and loving teacher was heart warming. Then seeing Chris play the spirit of the forest, an elf (many fans that I know have always wanted to see him with pointy ears), was both mildly comical, after watching him beat the baddies using martial arts in Power Rangers in Space and then to have him taking flight in this movie almost brought me to tears at the sheer campyness of the...

A Movie to Treasure
I watched this movie and I wasn't sure what to expect. I kind of figured it might be a little campy - I wasn't sure if I'd like it. I watched it and I had a huge grin on my face for three days afterwards.

There is something so heartwarming about this movie and so - apart - from what the world is today. Yes, there is some campiness in it - but it is really a joyous movie, with dashing heroes, magic, bad guys - and NO rated-R blood and gore! HOW often do you see something like that?

The cast's performance - especially Christopher Khayman Lee - in this movie makes me smile out loud and maybe not find this world such a depressing, aggravating, selfish and angry place after all.

Bah Humbug go bye-bye, baby!

Robert Montgomery Collection (4 Discs)

"Eight Film Collection ... Robert Montgomery ... Warner Archive (2011)"

1.) - Shipmates (1931) (72 min/B&W) - Starring Robert Montgomery, Ernest Torrence, Dorothy Jordan
(Directed by Harry A. Pollard) .... Robert Montgomery, as devil-may-care sailor who falls for an Admiral's daughter

2.) - The Man in Possession (1931) (84 min/B&W) - Starring Robert Montgomery, Charlotte Greenwood and Irene Purcell
(Directed by Sam Wood) .... The Code missed this one, naughty before its time,...

Suave Leading Man of the 1930's and 1940's
"The Robert Montgomery Collection" pays tribute to a popular leading man of the 1930's and 1940's. Though his light these days doesn't shine as brightly as that of his M-G-M contemporaries Clark Gable and Spencer Tracy, Montgomery projected a debonair charm and seemed most at home in light comedies, though he turned in a chilling performance as a suspected murderer in 1939's "Night Must Fall."

His leading ladies included Greta Garbo, Norma Shearer, Rosalind Russell, Ingrid Bergman, Susan Hayward, and Carole Lombard.

This four-disc collection contains eight features including "Shipmates" (as naval hero John Paul Jones), "Faithless" (co-starring Tallulah Bankhead), "Lovers Courageous" (as English family black sheep and world traveler), and "Made on Broadway" (as a slick, fast-talking press agent).

Also included are "The Man in Possession," "But the Flesh Is Weak," "Live, Love and Learn," and "The Earl of Chicago." There are no bonus extras.

Montgomery One of a Kind
This collection has some hard-to-find gems - Live, Love and Learn, The Man in Possesion - making it worthy of purchase, but it is enjoyable throughout because of the personality of the leading actor... a great free-spirit! Montgomery has attitude with heart, and a genuine flair for humor. These movies slipped in under the "code" and under the radar of contemporary viewers.

VOADOR- Capoeira Movement and Sound

great
This DVD is amazing. Really different than other videos. Wish inbound be like the people in this DVD. Great great muito great.

Looking for capoeira?..its not here!
Though there are several mestres and professors involved in the creation of this video, there is no capoeira being played. If you are a students of capoeira and are looking for new material to study...this is not it. If you do not know what capoeira is...this is not it. If you want to see how Sesame Street and a someone on acid would interpret capoeira...this IS it!

The best capoeira video I have seen to date
This video is well produced and the music is nice. There is not your typical capoeira video. There are great acrobatics and great games. However, what really separated this video from many I have seen was the way the video is shot and the music that's played. Some of the stills are amazing, almost life like. The capoeira is hot. This video is a great display of capoeira played at a very high level. It is great from an inspiration perspective (i.e. I wish I could do even half of what I saw on this video), this is not an instructional video by any stretch. The men and women who are in this video are all high level caporistas in their own right. If you want to see some great acrobatics, outstanding capoeira games, and listen to some nice music, buy this DVD it's worth every penny.

Learn to Make Earrings with Metal Clay and PMC

good video/presentation for 1 week rental
This is a good video presentation if you order it for just a week viewing. If you buy it outright you will not feel the price is justified. It is good for pointers and some basic construction instructions. I felt the power point was fine, and didnt feel it was problematic that there was a shortage of video.

I'm glad I rented it
This video is not exactly video per se. It's a lot of narration with still photos. It isn't useless, as it does give great techniques for the beginner to novice levels. If you are already more advanced in your Art Clay, you probably won't hear much you haven't heard a hudred times before. I'm more of a novice that is self taught so I did get a few useful tips and tricks. The purchase price however, is outrageous, especially when you consider it isn't actually video. It's useful, but rather limited. It would have been 5 stars if it weren't stills with narration and actually showed doing the techniques being explained.

Mannix: Sixth Season

A Singular Character
For those "Mannix" fans already out there, all you need to know about the season 6 release is that the audio, video, menus and packaging are all consistent with the previous releases -- all high quality. Keep on enjoying the ride.

For those who are un-initiated to "Mannix," remember it only from its first run, or were exposed to it only in butchered re-runs, here is a brief overview.

"Mannix" is one of a class of shows produced by Desulu in the late 60's -- in fact, it was the last show produced by that studio. Its closest peers are "Star Trek" and "Mission Impossible," the latter of which had the same executive producer. As a result, you actually see many of the same actors, settings and props in all three shows -- and in the closing credits, some of the same names. But, while "Star Trek" and "Mission Impossible" went on to spawn movies and re-makes, "Mannix" stands on its original episodes.

This makes perfect sense to "Mannix" fans, because the...

6 Down, 2 To Go!
So glad to see the sixth season of Mannix coming out in January 2012. If CBS/Paramount are consistent, the high production quality of this release should mirror that of the other five. With any luck, we'll see seasons 7 & 8 released in the next year -- 40 of those 48 episodes were never syndicated in the U.S., so they will be "new" more than 35 years later!

High Sticking & Reading Water

High sticking the Madison
Kelly Galloup is in his element in this DVD, he brings you in as a fishing partner not as "this is how it;s done" you are with him all the way. When he is hooked by the big brown you feel it too. Kelly is one great guy you will watch this and the other DVD's he has out over and over. I am glad each year to be able to stop by the Slide Inn and visit with him and I come away each time a little richer with what I have learned, and a little poorer with more tackle, but it's worth it. Sarah Palin: You Betcha!

The Real Sarah Palin
Finally, the real Sarah Palin revealed in all her hideous glory. Religious zealot, disconnected, willfully ignorant, vile, thoroughly corrupt, and proud of it... a side of Palin the Wasilla towns folk are afraid to discuss for fear of retribution from her cult-like fundamentalist evangelical tea partying followers. It's Jim Jones in a skirt.

Being there
In his 2011 documentary SARAH PALIN: YOU BETCHA!, filmmaker Nick Broomfield travels to Alaska to meet the failed 2008 vice presidential candidate who may have been considering a run for president in 2012. As I write this in December 2012, we know Sarah Palin did not seek the presidency. Broomfield observes, "What's astonishing is how close she's already gotten to the White House."

At times as chilling as the climate in the Last Frontier, SARAH PALIN: YOU BETCHA! presents Broomfield's interviews with friends and foes Palin made while Wasilla, AK, mayor and state governor along the way as he attempts to secure a one-on-one with Palin herself. The film reminds us that the advantage Palin had in being made the 2008 vice presidential candidate was the Republicans rushed the decision, not allowing enough time to see just how poor her qualifications were and how many skeletons they'd have to keep in her closet.

But wait, you say! Sarah Palin may be divisive, dumb,...

NOT from the same pathetic loser who moved in next to her.
This film is by Nick Broomfield, who is an excellent documentarian for the BBC; a previous reviewer is thinking of is Joe McGinness, who has nothing to do with this picture.

This is a minor work from Broomfield, but still quite good, and really more of an essay than a documentary. Outside of the fact that it's about Palin's world and her questionable ethics, it really has no political point of view whatsoever -- no one is demonized for being on the right, or praised for being on the left. In fact most of the folks that he talks to in Alaska are Tea Partiers, many of whom say they would vote for Palin, and they all are shown as quite reasonable and charming. This may disappoint leftists who are hoping for a holier-than-thou hit piece, but for me it was a relief.

A number of Broomfield's pictures, including the excellent 'Biggee & Tupac' and 'Ailleen' films are available on Amazon and Hulu, and I very much recommend them. 'You Betcha' most resembles his 'The...

Utopia Limited

Are you kidding me?
Where to start? Since the show wasn't miked, the voices were fuzzy. There was only one camera, which didn't move through out the entire show. No cuts, no close ups. Also, they one showed the first half of the show. The second act was nowhere to be seen.

Seldom done show.
For a community, single camera production, this wasn't too bad. It begs the question as to why a company like this would find it important to market a DVD of their performance, but there are other concerns. The production is generally quite silly; "slapstick" is an understandment at times. One can't help thinking of Monty Python, the resemblence is striking. If you like that sort of treatment of G and S, this might be the production for you- I am not a fan of anything that clouds the simple elegance of the music and Gilbert's brilliance. To pause and wait for a laugh is to show that the original Gilbert is just not understood. Gilbert doesn't need any help, let alone from mugging and silliness. The staging is often confusing, I don't know if there are too many people in the cast, or it was simply confusing. The huge set pieces were funny, for about a second, the space they took up was hardly worth the titter of laughter. The music was well treated, the orchestra fought the...

A story of power, scandal, Love, and blowing things up!
I have long been a fan of Utopia Limited, as I'm a fan of all Gilbert & Sullivan. This particular play is unique in so many ways, and this production was quite interesting. It is made to look like a comic book or a cartoon, with crazy stage sets and mostly good singing on the part of the principles. It is not without problems. The photographer was not very good, the sound was often muffled and difficult to hear, and a lot of the original dialog was considerably edited down, and the villains continue to fight another day. But aside from these shortcomings, the cast was likable and appealing. King Paramount, who in this version has five kids instead of the traditional three, and he's the star of the show, as was intended. He a tallish, slightly paunchy man with a jolly, round little face and a big, booming laugh, and fancy tennis shoes - and he's a great Dad to his kids. The really surprising bunch of characters were to so-called "Flowers of Progress" from England, who are full...

Pose Method of Running

Good content, lousy delivery
This video must have been digitized from an old VHS tape, as the video and audio quality are abysmal, almost unwatchable in some sections.

However, if you can tolerate that, the information provided regarding the POSE running method is good. Some of the drills are particularly effective.

An updated version of this presentation, using more modern methods, would be great.

5 stars for content, 1 star for delivery. I'll split the difference and give it 3.

Excellent resource
This is an excellent resource for understanding the Pose drills contained in the various Pose Method books. It's great to see Pose running and the drills from multiple angles, and in slow and full motion.

The introduction, which contains a 'before and after' comparison of new Pose runners is persuasive.

This video can largely stand on it's own for learning Pose running, though Pose theory is more thoroughly covered in the printed resources (Pose Running, Pose Triathlon, and Pose Drills).

The video production is somewhat dated feeling, but this is of no consequence.

The video and sound quality are a little on the low side, but not enough to hamper the effectiveness of the presentation.

If you'd like a little more help understanding an implementing Pose running (or 'barefoot' methodology in general), this is a useful resource for drills that can help get the 'feel' of low impact running.

The Sopranos: The Complete Series

The Sopranos, repackaged in time for the holidays
Last year HBO released the complete series of this ground-breaking show with the very high pricetag we've come to expect from any HBO original series on DVD. According to the press release, a year later, HBO wants to make this collection more available to consumers with new compact packaging and a lower price point. I continue from the press release:

The new package is still book style, but of a vastly different sort - it opens up from a split down the center in a gatefold fashion, and discs slide in from the side. Speaking of discs, HBO informs us that all of the DVDs from the previous Complete Series set will be included, with all the bonus material found on them. However, the extra soundtrack CD discs will not be packed in with the revised collection. Still, the new list price is a hundred dollars lower, which certainly good news for any fans who perhaps couldn't afford last year's model.

End of press release. The bottom line on this is we are paying one...

Finally, the whole series in its entirety
This 33 disc 10 pound set will contain all 86 original episodes as well as an interview with series creator David Chase conducted by Alec Baldwin and two "Supper With the Sopranos" featurettes that will show cast members sitting down for dinner to discuss their favorite episodes. Other features include:
Sopranos Spoofs
2 CD soundtracks on 3 discs
16 page episode guide
56-page collector's album

As the Godfather saga was the view of the mafia from the executive suite, this series is a complex tale of the mafia from the working man's point of view. If you've never watched this show, you're in for an extended treat. Yes, there is violence and nudity, but it is never gratuitous and is needed to contrast Tony Soprano, the thinking man's gangster, with the reality of the life he has been born to and, quite frankly, would not ever have left even knowing how so many of his associates have ended up. Tony Soprano can discuss Sun Tzu with his therapist, then beat a...

This Generation's Greatest Contribution to Pop Culture
Meet Tony Soprano. He sleeps until noon, has a boyish sense of humor, and enjoys old war movies on The History Channel. He has two high maintenance children, a more high maintenance wife, and he grew up with a controlling mother so manipulative he has to see a psychiatrist to deal with his depression and panic attacks.

And in his spare time, he runs a middling outfit of La Cosa Nostra and controls most of the organized crime in North New Jersey.

This is the set-up for the show that superseded all its predecessors and took its place at the pinnacle of television artistry. Creator David Chase's masterpiece follows Tony is his travels through his three worlds: family, work and therapy. The plot arcs are simultaneously short and long-ranging, as resolution is found in each episode and also builds toward season climaxes and long-reaching series payoffs. The end result is a television show with the grand scope of a novel, but one that doesn't forget to keep viewers...

Transbrasil Boeing 767-200 & 767-300

Older video with unique aspects
This is another transfer of an older VHS presentation onto DVD.

The takeoff from New York is at night and in as bad a weather as you'll find on any of the Just Planes videos. Its raining, cloudy, and turbulent. Makes it far more fun than many, though if you want scenery, you will not get any. The landing in Brazil is cool as well, not great weather either, which makes the view out the window a lot of fun.

There is a run through of the aircraft by the pilot, who is knowledgeable, but annoying. "At this time" is said about 400 times.

The second flight is not as interesting in any regard, but still interesting.

At this time, I found the video to be well worth watching, and I have watched the take off from JFK and the landing in Brazil many times. Just something magnetic about them.

Anaerobic 4 Through the Forest and Over the "Hump" Vancouver Island B.C. Blu-Ray EDITION Virtual Indoor Cycling Training / Spinning Fitness and Workout Videos

Another Great, Beautiful, & Difficult Ride
Just like the title says, this is another great, beautiful, and difficult ride done by Paul Gallas. I love his videos. I am now spoiled by the HD ones and and am getting more spoiled every time I buy one of his newer videos. I love the rear view look too that he has added and plays sometimes during the ride, although I can't focus on it too long because I start feeling dizzy. I love how challenging this ride is. It is very pretty and makes me feel like I am there. I also love the ride info that is provided at the bottom of the screen. It keeps me challenging myself and focused. I do wish that the white lettering was slightly larger since I cannot always see it very well and already have my trainer pretty close to the tv. On a side note, I have wondered how rpm's compare to cadence, since I have a cadence sensor but nothing to track rpm's like the ride info includes. In an ideal world (which the economy is far from these days), I would love to see some European virtual rides by Paul...

Absolutely Fabulous!
I stated indoor cycling about a year ago and I have discovered Paul's DVD about 10 months ago. Since then, I must have bought about 8 of Paul's DVDs. What I love about these DVDs is that they are very challenging; all of them are quite unique and offer very different training opportunities, in fact, I find those so motivating that I am having a hard time when I have to stop in the middle of a ride when I only have one hour before rushing to work.
I bought "Anarobic 4 Through the forest and over the hump" about 6 months ago. I did this ride for the first time this week. I knew that this was going to be quite a challenge; this is why I did the other rides before doing this one in order to build up a solid aerobic base. This DVD was quite an exciting ride and remains a great challenge, I still need more training before I will be able to perfectly follow the pace of this ride but I am slowly getting there! This is very motivating and rewarding.
I also love the music from this...

Addicted
Another great video. There are no super steep climbs in this one, but there are plenty of rollers. And one big "hump." Its an hour and a half video with lots of great commentary from Paul and his guest David. Great insight into what it takes to be an all around cyclist. ALL of these videos are worth adding to your collection. They take you from inside a dingy room indoors and outside onto the road. You look up and the video is over. The cues and camera abilities just get better with each ride. Since I can't ride outside, why not bring the ride outside to me. Highly recommend!!

101 Tips & Tricks for Sony Movie Studio - updated for Movie Studio 11

GREAT resource for learning Sony Vegas Movie Studio
I had been trying to find instructional materials to help me through the process of learning Vegas Movie Studio without much luck. Frustrated by the seeming lack of availability of any instructional materials for this wonderful video editing application, I decided to search on Youtube to see if I could find anything that might be useful to help me learn the program. That's where I found many helpful video tips posted by Bill Meyers; the author and producer of "101 Tips, Tricks and Techniques for Sony Vegas Movie Studio". I only wish I had found his video tips before I wasted a LOT of my time sifting through Youtube videos posted by BRAProductions and another Youtube user named Mark Apsolon. These other two youtube users are self absorbed people who are more interested in promoting themselves and increasing their comments and number of views for their youtube videos than in helping their viewers learn something. If you want to waste incredible amounts of your time to "possibly" learn a...

I am so glad I found this! It is great!!!
Pros...

Lots of great content broken up into small segments. It's very easy to find what you need.
The videos are short, to the point and show you exactly what you need to do to get a particular effect. Bill uses lots of screen shots so you can see everything he is doing very easily.
The material covered is very relevant to what you will actually need to do a real world project. Blur out faces, spotlight faces, slow motion, green screen effect (like you see all the time on tv and in the movies) so you can have very professional looking backgrounds, change from color to B&W, make new video look like older footage, etc...

The DVD covers the basics, telling you what settings to use when you are first starting out. Then, it covers many effects that you will need if you want your videos to look like the pro videos you see on TV all the time.

I am only half way through the videos right now and I can already say I am thoroughly happy with this...

The best source to learn Sony Movie studio.
I will make this short and sweet. Bill Myers delivers a how to video that is wonderful. Even though I have Pro 9, the basic are all the same. Without this video I would been pulling my hair out by the roots as I hate to read manuals. Bills intructions are clear and to the point. He explains everything thoroughly and will have you doing your own special effects in no time. I highly recomend this video for anyone who has a Sony Video software and little or no experience in video editing like myself. In fact I dare say it is a must unless you like to frustrate yourself. Good job Bill and keep them coming.

Naruto Shippuden: Set Nine

place to return home to
This disc set covers a story arc that focuses on the theme of "home is where someone thinks about you" or "as long as someone thinks about you, you have a place to return to". Naruto struggles over this advice, as he contemplates what if it is someone evil who thinks about you? Is that still the place you should call home? As usual, this arc is one where Naruto has an effect on other people to change them, or to bring to light the changes that are occurring.

The plot involves a lot of leaf characters, who are assigned various responsibilities. Like sealing jutsu, recon, guarding, and rescue missions. This also involves several new evil characters, plus scenes with the akatsuki, kabuto, and orochimaru. All centered around a boy with special powers and the three tails beast.

Swiss Airbus A340-300 to San Francisco

I left my heart
Incredible quality in the air. Thorough explanations, excellent multiple camera shots, great scenery shots, great air to air shots, nice coverage of the flight crew in action. San Francisco is orgeous from the air. I still wish Just Planes would make separate chapters on takeoff and landing for the cockpit and the scenery, and this one gives us more scenery and less flying than typical Just Planes, but well worth the money!

Good, but wanted more
This is my first Just Planes DVD. I bought it because we'll be doing this flight over the summer (though in reverse), and I wanted a bit of background for the flight. As an aviation enthusiast, I found it most interesting; as an aviation scale modeller, I found the exterior shots, especially the pre-flight walkaround, to be most useful. As a future passenger, I wanted more of what happens in the main cabin, and a longer look at the work of the cabin crew. My daughter was less than impressed and was quickly bored with all the technical talk, though she really enjoyed the scenary shots. I will also admit to fast forwarding parts of the return flight...some of the technical sequences go on just too long.

Nevertheless, the crew are engaging, explain the technical stuff quite well (though it helps to have some knowledge already) and the video is well shot and edited.

I'd recommend this to the aviation enthusiast, but this is defintely not intended for the casual...

Nice video
Excelent video, very complete but need a multi cam option, needs some subtitles even in english because sometimes is very difficult to understand the comunications.

Championship Productions Pro Hitter's Workout DVD

BEST BASEBALL HITTING VIDEO OUT THERE!!!
WOW. For $40 you get almost two full hours of invaluable hitting instruction from KEVIN LONG, the Yankee's hitting coach, one of the best hitting coaches in the MLB right now. Kevin Long breaks hitting down to its simplest form and makes this video a must watch for EVERY LEVEL of baseball. You get to watch a pro level player A-Rod and Kevin's son ( a high school player) perform basic T drills and soft toss drills that anyone else can do at their home.

Kevin breaks down the swing in simple terms and shows dozens of examples how to execute a consistent balanced powerful hitting stance. Just like a pro golfer would practice his/her golf swing for hours on end. The batting tee they are using is called a TANNER TEE ($65) and I went out and bought one once I saw the video. The rubber funnel shaped tip is so forgiving if you happen to hit under the ball that the base of the tee does not even move. There is no comparison between this tee and all the other hard rubber...

No need for A-Rod
It is pretty good when he starts coaching along with his son. Having A-Rod involved is just a marketing gimmic.

Excellent Dvd
This is one of the greatest dvd for baseball players.
And it's very easy to understand how to improve your batting skills.

rip:60 Home Gym and Fitness DVDs

A challenging and balanced workout program
I had been thinking about suspension training for about a year and bit when it was an Amazon Gold Box special in December. I was aware of TRX, but when I looked at all the reviews, many cited the superiority of rip60. My purchase decision was based on good price, great reviews for the straps, and the inclusion of 12 DVDs.

The program is 8 weeks long and you workout with one DVD each week. Weeks 1-3 gradually build up in difficulty. Week 4 is a yoga routine to recover. Week 5 is a step up from week 3 in both time and challenge. Week 6 is the most challenging--it is longer by ~10 min, and then weeks 7 and 8 back off a bit from week 6. It seemed to me that weeks 6, 7, and 8 focused a bit more on cardio than strength. The exta workout called lean muscle is a pretty challenging strength workout thats lots of fun, but only 25 min long. After running through the program and the extra DVDs, I find myself repeating the week 3 and week 5 workouts....with some week 4...

Good, not quite great.
I've completed weeks 1-3 and am in the middle of week 4. Here are my thoughts:

1. The product itself is rock solid. I'm not worried about straps breaking on me, they are VERY sturdy. The rotational aspect of them is fairly underwhelming; the straps don't slide that easily, and so the difference between these and TRX are just not that noticeable.

2. The door anchor... meh. You won't have a lot of clearance between the door and your feet with away facing movements, so your feet may bang on the door. The metal portion just below the strap that is the door anchor will also scratch your door up if you don't use the protective cover. Even with that, it still scratched up la quinta's bathroom door.

3. The DVDs: LOTS of recycled footage, which annoys me. You'll be very tired of the warmup and cooldown by week 3. Also, there is quite a bit of plyometric stuff, especially jumping jacks, so if you have issues with high impact, you might not tolerate the...

AWESOME system and workout... but with IMPORTANT warnings
Review originally posted under an identical product listing for Rip60 on Amazon...

AWESOME system and workout... but with important warnings

This is an AWESOME system and workout. The workout covers everything: Balance, Agility, Flexibility, Endurance and Strength. It takes about an hour each time and runs four to five days a week depending on the week. In the time it takes me to drive to the gym and back I can get in a great workout and not leave the house and waste time along with gas and gym membership money. I absolutely love it.

In my opinion, the trainer (Jeremy Strom) knows what he is doing, why he is doing it, and is good at it.

Warnings:

(1) Finding a place to mount this system which has the required space available might be harder than it appears. I don't know if you would have a door would work like it shows in the advertisements and it won't work as well as on the videos (the straps are suspended freely in the videos)...

Gasaraki Complete Series DVD Collection

A Mediocre series
Yushiro is a member of the Gowa clan. The Gowa clan is about to start a revolution. They will use a new mech that Yushiro pilots. He is also a Kai. He has the power to summon a god called Gasaraki. The Gowa clan will use these powers to overthrow the government and take control. Yushiro has a secret that he doesn't understand himself, and his brothers aren't talking. He meets a girl named Miharu. Miharu has a strange connection to Yushiro and may hold the key to understanding his purpose.

This anime has a very well written story. It's carefully thought out and has lots of suspense and mystery. A lot of people say that it's very complicated. I don't think so. It's very easy to understand if you pay attention. The downfall of this anime is the terrible character development. Even at the final episode, you feel very distant and know next to nothing about the characters. I'll give the story 5 stars, and the characters 1 star. Unfortunately, it takes solid character development...

THIS IS NOT X ANYMORE ITS GASARAKI
after ignoring the fact teh reviews here are for X and not Gasaraki; move forward and read this; this anime is one of the most compelling mech animes made in teh past several years. it details the creation of mech in its infancy as mobile units are only just being developed so you see the trail runs with mechs. on top of that the sub story lines involved political intrigue; physiological issues. all the characters are very well done and i didnt think there was any characater that was a complete hyperbole of some sort; everyone has pros and cons and the build up to the ending was very good. an excellent anime check it out!!!

Mobile Suit Gundam 00: The Complete Second Season

A fitting end to one of the best Gundam series yet ~
Be afraid of the next Gundam series... The art is pretty... interesting. Gundam AGE looks like Pokemon in space. So while you can, pick up a copy of Gundam 00 and enjoy the wonderful, more grown up look to this series.

I will leave this brief review spoiler free. The story picks up a little after the events in the first half of the series (Mobile Suit Gundam 00: The Complete First Season). I actually bought the second season when it briefly dropped to $29.99 (from Amazon w/Prime shipping). I got lucky.

The story line takes a different path in this half, but we see many of the same characters as in the first half. Again, no spoilers, but if you have finished the first half (which you should have before watching this half), then you know some people were lost. There are a few new characters introduced, and others take a more central role in the story. I think that Saji's character...

Finale To A Great Series But Still With The Standard Story
While with the Gundam series the basic storyline is pretty much the same all in all I and like most people will still find the series entertaining and exciting regardless. The animation and soundtrack fit nicely together and the Japanese voice cast did a great job and while the English voice cast were 90% great there was that 10% we could have done without. Also just a heads up on the video format, I really don't know why Amazon has the video as standard but in actuality the format is widescreen(1.78:1). Also while the case for the set is somewhat cheap for $30.00 dollars for the entire second season I'm more then willing to overlook this, don't really expect much on the extras as all you're going to get are the usual trailers and the like. So for fans of the series or for fan of the Gundam series in general finally here's a series worth adding to your mecha anime collection.

If you love Gundam you will love this!
I am a fan of G Gundam and Gundam Seed/Destiny and this is the third one to come out that I have truly enjoyed. The complex relationships always keep me interested and it keeps you tied to the TV till the very end.

More Business of Being Born

Wonderful
Rickey and Abby did it again. This was wonderful and less home birth heavy. Loved the famous women telling about there birth experiences. Lots of very good info including VBAC, doulas, and c-sections. Must see for all women who plan to give birth for the first time or the 11th time.

Great video on birth today
I loved this video. Even better than the first one which I also really enjoyed. So many great minds and also celebrities makes it informative and entertaining. It is about time we had an honest discussion about the problems in our culture related to birthing choices for women and their families. A great testament to the power of grassroots activism!

Awesome Documentary
every woman needs to watch both the Business of Being Born & More Business of Being Born these documentaries are mind expanding for all and packed with information. I highly recommend them especially to anyone having or planning to have a baby wether its you first or your next child. Also great for Doulas and or Midwives to have as part of their video library.

Monogram Cowboy Collection Volume 2 (3 Discs)

Another delightful surprise from Warner Bros.
Just when you thought things couldn't get any better, Warner Archives now releases a second volume of Monogram B Westerns, this time three DVD-Rs with six very rare Whip Wilson programmers from the early 1950s, and two more fine Rod Cameron Cinecolor "super Bs." The two Cameron vehicles are: "Fort Osage" and "Wagons West," both in decent color and with solid production values, casts and plots. In "Fort Osage" the endearing "heavy" Morris Ankrum co-stars along with Douglas Kennedy. In "Wagons West" look for Noah Beery Jr and Michael Chapin. These are very entertaining oaters, capturing the verve and style of the classic B Western, but with something extra that should please most fans of the genre. Cameron made films for Universal, Republic, Monogram and later Allied Artists (Monogram's successor company), but never receives the due he deserves. In recent years one of his best films,"Panhandle," has shown up (in original sepiatone), but we still need releases of his "Stampede" and...

Long awaited westerns
This latest Warner Archive collection contains two long unseen, thought lost, Whip Wilson westerns. Worth waiting for, they are all fun to watch. I hope Warners will release more of these collections, especialy those with Rod Cameron and Johnny Mack Brown. Cameron's cinecolor westerns are great.

Johnny Mack Brown from Alabama
Love on western recommend to all baby boomers who grew up with black and white tv. Want more and more

Swing Dancing 101 (Shawn Trautman Dance Instruction)

Very well made
I am a beginner. I ordered this Swing DVD recently after checking the reviews of many dance instruction DVDs. I found it to be very thorough and well structured so that I could learn at my own pace without rushing. Very well made.

Swing Dancing 101
We have had the Swing Dancing 101 for three weeks and find it extremely helpful and easy to follow. We used it to practice at home and it is a perfect fit to our group dance lessons.

Awesome DVD
I highly recommend this DVD for beginners. I've tried a variety of other approaches, including lessons and Youtube, to learning different dances and highly recommend this. Video is easy to follow. Good production quality. And makes it fun to learn. Am ordering a bunch of additional DVDs on Swing and other dances.

Shawn and his wife do a great job with clear instruction. They show 1 step and 3 step options to make it easy for you to dance to any pace. This is way cheaper than lessons. It is also great documentation - if you are like me and may need a quick refresher down the road.

CHEYENNE SEASON 3
THIS DVD SET IS AS GOOD AS SEASON 1 AND 2 MAYBE EVEN BETTER. THE PICTURE IS VERY CLEAR AND WOULD A GREAT BUY FOR ANYONE. I HAVE WATCHED ALL 20 SHOWS AND THEY ARE GREAT.THIS DVD SET WAS FOR SALE ON JAN 10 2012 BUT AMAZON HAS NOT RECEIVED THEIR COPIES YET. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG BUYING THIS SET WHEN IT ARRIVES TO AMAZON.

Excellent series
Received my set today.
Have had a quick look through the 5 discs and all appears well. The quality looks excellent and so does the story plots. All five discs have good quality pictures on them.
I feared they might be double-sided, thankfully not. "CHEYENNE" is an excellent series. Hopefully I will be able to buy more of the series .
Thank you Amazon for the excellent service.

Keep 'em coming!
What a spectacular addition to "Cheyenne" Season One and Two!! Mr. Walker, without a doubt is one of the handsomest men on any screen, at any time, and a pleasure to observe, and in almost every scene (ok ok but I could go on in this vein) the series itself is a pleasure to view again after so many years. So many pleasant memories here and what fun trying to identify all the familiar stars in each episode that we remember from the movies of the 30's on up. It never disappoints and this DVD series is a definite 'buy and send'..just hope they keep on coming!

Xam'd: Lost Memories - The Complete Collection [Blu-ray]

3.5 An entertaining ride
Akiyuki Takehara is a high schooler living on the tranquil island of Sentan. He goes to school with his two best friends, Haru and Furuichi, and lives a relatively ordinary life. That all changes when he is accidentally involved in a bus bombing and is bestowed with the dubious power to transform into a strange creature called a Xam'd. The transformation is not without price however, as those that spend to much time in the Xam'd shape start to turn to stone. Saved by a young woman named Nakiami, Akiyuki is rather forcibly removed from his home and employed on a mail ship. Now he must learn to control his new power and try to find a way back home.

This series was weird. It was interesting, then boring, then confusing, then interesting, then confusing, then it ended. The world we are introduced to is interesting and mysterious. Akiyuki was something of an interesting character and he goes through quite a bit of character development. The supporting cast is varied and carry...

A well-told story in a fully thought-out world
Xam'd: Lost Memories has taken the top spot as my favorite anime series, or television series at all for that matter. It's set in a world apparently long at war. Neither faction is innocent, as is the case in reality but so rarely in literature. The people use a mix of futuristic bioengineering, modern weaponry, and religious ritual and magic to accomplish their goals. There are many factions, plotlines, characters, and ideas to understand and keep track of, and if you can follow all of them, it is very much worth the ride. This isn't a simple, straightforward story you can follow along with while you do your other work. It takes some effort to keep up with, and rewards that effort well.

Beautiful, If Not Overdecorated
Others have covered the premise of this story, so I won't waste your time trying to reiterate.

Pros:
All the stuff that makes a good anime are here: artwork; character development; musical score; imaginative setting; interesting conflict; etc...

Cons:
Lots of stuff going on all over the place. Not sure why some of the characters or plot lines were there, other than to be a parable of some sort.

Overall:
Loved it. Every aspect is very high quality. The effort is there. The character development is excellent for some, if not for most of the characters. This story is beautifully complex, but does sometimes feel crowded, like a diamond ring with too many gems in the setting (distracts from the centerpiece's beauty), or a wedding dress with too much lace (think snowbeast). I can see why some reviewers said it was a little confusing at times. I did have to see the last episode's scenes a couple of times to verify if it was a happy...

K-ON! DVD [Anime Legends]

This should've been what was originally released
This box set essentially has the same discs that was released individually with 4 episodes per disc a few months back, so if you were waiting to buy it, I'd highly recommend buying this and saving a lot of money. I bought individual discs, but went ahead and bought this anyway, and will give the other DVD's to my nieces who enjoy watching this show.

As for the series itself, it's a slice-of-life high school comedy, with occasional song thrown in. It has similarities to other anime series such as Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (minus the sci-fi stuff), and Azumanga Daioh. If you liked those shows, you'll like this one too. Nothing too outrageous, just a group of girls going about their lives and their Light Music Club, and goofing off a lot in between the actual band playing parts.

Love K-On!
I absolutely love this show. I watched it about 3 weeks ago with a friend. The next day after I watched K-On! The Movie, I bought this season 1 set. I had originally watched it in Japanese with English subtitles, and fell in love with the way the characters were so splendidly voiced. Watching it with my brother, I have now been watching the English dubbed and that too is just amazing. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was done by the English voice actors. Plus, the extras on the dvds are great as well. Now, I am adding the Season 2 Collections 1 and 2 to my cart since my brother cannot seem to get enough either.

K-ON! Rocks
K-ON! is a really good anime. It is about 5 high school girls that join the light music club and start a rock band. It's a heartwarming tale of friendship and fun. All of the characters are likable and memorable. Each character has a unique and interesting personality. It's fun to watch them goof off and play their music. I was actually kind of surprised with their band they actually have some style. Their songs are good and the costumes their teacher makes them are funny. It's a light hearted show with everything it takes to make a memorable story. I believe it will be talked about for years to come.

Mobile Suit Gundam Complete Collection 2 (Anime Legends)

Yomigaeru! Yomigaeru! Yomigaeru GANDAMU!
Yes, it is actually Ga-ndamu judging by the Japanese characters on the karaoke version of the video (yeah, I'm that big of a geek!). All jokes about the terrible/awesome 1979 theme song aside, Mobile Suit Gundam was a groundbreaking series which changed the future of animation for good. In Japan and also in the world.

Before this series, we had seen some flashes of the giant-mecha-robot-space animations, but nothing to capture international audiences. Fans can point out Mazinger Z (72 - 74), but though the series was amazingly popular with Japanese fans, it was little known in other countries. Gundam was hailed as the first 'real robot' series as opposed to the 'super robot' genre to which Mazinger and others belonged.

The series features Amuro Ray as the intelligent youth that ends up piloting a giant mecha in order to save his friends. It's a beginning repeated in nearly every Gundam series. In fact, Gundam SEED is more or less a remake of this series down to...

conclusion of the first original Gundam story .
This is the completion of the original Gundam Universal Century series. On my opinion it still has the best story line compare to story that come afterwards. The character has very distinct personality that you can compare with ordinary people you see everyday so it will appeal to older kids .The story has good theme and robots involves are merely ordinary weapons like today's tanks and fighter.I highly recommend the japanese language version of this DVD because it uses the original sound effects.

Excellent!
Excellent show! I remember watching this as a kid, and it's so nice to watch it again. The packaging is cool, the art work is very nice. The dvd case is the same size as a normal dvd, not a thicker case. The art on the dvds themselves are neat as well. As far as the content, it's pretty bareboned. Basically only play all, scene selection, setup, and extras. Not many extras to speak of. Also, their is no music during the menus. It's just completely silent, which I thought was odd. Couldn't they have just put the gundam theme in?

Overall, excellent product. Good price for a good show. It's always nice to watch some gundam on the couch before bed :-)

Mobile Suit Gundam 00: The Complete First Season

The first half of Gundam 00 ~
This is not a review to say how great Gundam 00 or how great previous Gundam series were. Each Gundam series (except Gundam Seed Destiny and a few other offshoots) tends to start from scratch with a new fictional future, and new characters. Gundam 00 is a new series where the future is one that is oddly foreseeable. The world has depleted the supply of fossil fuel, so the only resource available is to harness solar power. But to harness solar power on the scale needed to power the planet, 3 orbital solar power stations were built. The Middle East fell into ruin after the oil dried up and the foreign powers abandoned those countries. The countries where the solar elevators were built (along the equator) are targets of struggle and terrorism, despite their apparent fortune.

The world is dominated by three superpowers, but there are still many countries around the globe that war over finite resources. Those superpowers have control of the solar power and can literally...

Great series, is a must watch for anyone!
First off, this review is coming from someone who has NOT seen any Gundam series in the past. This is the first series of Gundam that I finished, and I have to say that the experience was amazing!

Story:
There are rumors about Mobile Suit Gundam 00 taking a large resemblance from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, but since I haven't seen any other series of Gundam, I won't compare them. Basically an organization called "Celestial Being" uses it's mobile suits called "Gundam" in attempt to rid the world of conflict through armed intervention. Though this may seem like an impossible task... it is. The story probably sounds boring, but trust me it's not. The story's theme, especially in Season 2, is so realistic it changed my life forever! There are times where the Gundams seem "invincible" which can upset some people, but I didn't mind.

Characters:
I LOVE the character development and how they change throughout the course of the anime. That's something I always...

Solid entry in the Gundam universe
Gundam 00 isn't my favorite Gundam series, but it's still near the top of my list.
The characters are fairly standard for Gundam, but what makes them really shine is their histories and the motivations behind joining Celestial Being or the various other militaries.
The animation is outstanding, and the battle scenes are amazingly well done. Director Mizushima's (of Fullmetal Alchemist fame) vision for this series was very ambitious, as the staff discuss in one of the extras, but it pays off in a big way.
There are a large number of characters, but the designs and colors make it fairly easy to tell who's who, so this is a good place to start for someone who's never seen a Gundam season before.
If you're a fan of mecha, drama, action, and good storytelling, you owe it to yourself to check this series out.

La Jetée / Sans Soleil (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]

One of the most moving, esoteric, and unique science fiction films ever made...
I am very happy that Chris Marker's La Jette (and Sans Soleil) are on DVD. La Jetee is a wonderful, incredibly haunting film. It can easily be classified as one of the greatest science fiction films ever made in my opinion. It only runs 28 minutes, and is composed of nothing but still images and narration (except for one shot), yet the universe is contained within it. It's that rare cerebral science fiction that hardly gets made these days, along the lines of 2001, Blade Runner, and Solaris (Tarkovsky's version). It was the inspiration for Twelve Monkeys, and while Monkeys is a great film in itself, La Jetee is much more haunting and moving. It's wonderful to be able to see La Jetee in a proper transfer.

Essay on Narrative, Memory, Poetry and Identity (Personal, Collective, Global)
La Jetee (1962) is one of the seminal works of the French New Wave as well as one of the all-time great science fiction films. It deserves all the respect it receives but what is really so amazing is how much is achieved with so little. Made entirely of still black and white images--of WWII cities in ruin, of an airport observation deck in the fifties, of generic shots of a woman one could find in any magazine, of a group of men in one of the many tunnels beneath Paris--and a mundane but strangely compelling voice-over, Le Jetee is not so much a film as a series of random images linked only by the narrative spell of a single voice.

We view only one still photo at a time and we assign meaning only because the narrator tells us the significance of each. It doesn't sound like much to describe it so and yet because the technology is so primtive we are somehow less distracted than we would be were this a full-fledged cinematic production with action sequences and a pulsing...

Stunning
Sans Soleil has long been one of my favourite films. Superlatives barely begin to scratch the surface, but it is surreal, haunting, poignant, ethereal and unlike any other 'documentary' you have seen or are ever likely too. The film is ultimately about the heartbreaking beauty of the time and place in which we (do or do not) exist. Featuring Marker's central preoccupations of time, space and memory, Sans Soleil needs to be seen to be believed.

Police Woman: Complete Second Season

Another Rescue Mission from Shout Factory
Sony released Season One of "Police Woman" in 2006 and I thought Season Two would quickly follow since they showed remastered clips from it on their "Ladies Night" promos that appeared on the "Maude" and "Mary Hartman" DVDs, among others. I guess sales weren't what they'd hoped and I've been longing for my Pepper fix for nearly six years! Thankfully, Shout Factory comes through once again, resurrecting this groundbreaking '70s series from oblivion.

This set consists of the 24 episodes that aired during the 1975-76 TV season on NBC. The picture quality is excellent and they all look like they were filmed yesterday. Purists will be delighted because the original Columbia logo is present at the end of the episodes so you are experiencing them exactly as they aired in 1975-76! Some episodes contain the alternate harpsichord theme song instead of the more familiar piano one. The insert has a nice color photo of Angie on the back and the same image of her appears on all 6 discs...

'Bout Time!
Thank goodness season 2 is finally being released. Police Woman fans have been waiting far too long for this. Let's hope that seasons 3 and 4 will quickly follow. Season 3 is my favorite, but season 2 has much to offer, as well. Yaay!!

Looking forward to this one at long last!
I will speak for many and say that this is great news! At long last the second season of Police Woman becomes a reality! I hope that this means that future seasons will not be long behind. I also hope that there are extras on this like the season one set, like star commentary and interviews and the like. If not, then there is always season three to add these to as well. I have pre-ordered mine, and look forward to the usual high quality Shout Factory releases!

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings - Season 1 (Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

One word sums up this series: AWESOME.
Based on the world of the Sengoku Basara videogames which are [loosely] based on the infamous Sengoku Period in Japanese history, Sengoku Basara is a mish-mash of explosive action, slapstick comedy, and romance caught in a whirlwind war for supremacy. In the words of a reviewer on ANN, it's "JAPANESE HISTORY MAXIMUM". And I loved every second of it.

Story:
While the Japanese audience are very familiar with the Sengoku period and its many players, us foreigners might have a bit of a rough time recognizing the famous samurai and battles that pepper the Sengoku Basara universe. With a large cast, SB works quickly to familiarize viewers with the varied generals and their respective heavily-named territories, focusing especially on Masamune Date, the Big Boss of Oshu [an utter badass] and Lord Shingen and his (servant? protege?) Yukimura Sanada of the Takeda Clan. Main villain Oda Nobunaga (he has one HELL of a theme song) explodes onto the scene in episode 2 leaving a wake...

Japanese History Just got a Lot More Awesome!
Based on a video game series that itself turned Japanese history into a comic book, this is the coolest anime show I've seen in quite some time. You see, the "Sengoku" of the title refers to the "Sengoku" or "Warring States" period of Japanese history, which lasted over 100 years and saw constant battle as numerous factions fought for territory and control. Several of the characters are even based on actual people...but here they are given flashy, colorful outfits that make them look like medieval superheroes/villains, weild badass kung-fu weapons, have nicknames like "One-Eyed Dragon", "Tiger of Kai" and "The Devil King", spout dialogue that sounds like Shakespeare on testosterone(it's cooler than it sounds), and use DBZ-style super powered martial-arts moves that defy the laws of physics. One character even has a motorcycle handle bars and exhaust pipes on his horse! If you think that sounds over the top...well, that's the whole idea.

I'll admit that some of the...

Are you ready ghuys?!!!!
Yes, that is ghuys, not guys. The words of Date Masamune in this series always sound better when you add his little accent.

If there is any series done which reeks of more testosterone fueled action than Basara, I haven't seen it yet. This series takes the warring states period and injects it with a dose of about 1000 energy drinks. Is it meant to be accurate? No. Is it meant to obey the laws of physics? No. Is it meant to be an action packed show where bitter enemies band together to face a common foe? Yes.

That is mostly what both seasons sum up to be. It is not an over the top emotional drama story or a feel good story where enemies come to love each other. It is an action series showing the strength found when rivals put aside differences and join forces. The two most prominent heroes are the ones gracing the box cover: Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune. The epic rivalry between these two knows no end. Their battles always engulf entire battlefields and...

A great release.great for the end of gundam in the us.
The dvd is worth it in every way. myself being a very oldschool gundam fan it makes me happy to see the ending of the great UC.

The extras are also outstanding great music score and outsanding story leave this as one of the best and yet most incomplete of the gundam UC Saga.

Excellent addition to a growing Gundam DVD collection
I would suggest this DVD to anyone who loves the Universal Century Timeline for Gundam! I feel as though I'm not simply watching episodes of a show, but a full length movie. Both episodes are excellently done.

Kevin Hart: Laugh At My Pain [Blu-ray]

Best Comedian Out Right Now!
Kevin Hart is too funny! Saw this one at the theater twice (the first time people were laughing so loud/long, I missed some parts! lol). Definitely worth buying as he never gets old. I have been a fan for years and have his other dvds (I'm A Grown Little Man & Seriously Funny) and watch them all the time. Each time, it just gets funnier. You won't be disappointed with this purchase!

I couldnt stop laughing!
I can honestly say this is one of the funniest stand ups I have seen in a long time. I couldn't stop laughing when Kevin was talking about his dad. "alright, alright, alllllllright". Hahahaha..........definitely not something to watch with the kids. My 6 year old over heard it and he wont stop saying "alright, alright, alllllllright". He thought it was so funny. Glad I watched it on Comedy Central so some of it was edited. I am definitely buying the DVD to watch when the kids are sleeping. :)

I don't understand it at all...
I don't understand why people don't love this!! My friend, who's a Kevin Hart fan, told me that he didn't like it as much as his previous stand-up routines. I thought this was hilarious! I don't normally buy these things, but it was so funny, that I'll buy it.

I also wanna support "Chocolate Drop", cuz he's a hard worker. He has been doing commercials, movies, comedy stand-up routines, etc. eBay has commercials with him on YouTube. Xbox has an add with him promoting Forza 4. I wanna support his hard work.

He used to be my #2 fav Comedian behind Louis CK. Now he's my first.

Curable: Autsim, ADHD, Lyme Disease with Co-Infection & Morgellon's Disease

Absolutely Terrific!
This fact-filled DVD was so totally engrossing that I defecated myself rather than leave to use the bathroom...I couldn't even stand to put it on "pause". I knew the government and the CDC were hiding these facts! I'm almost 100 percent sure the author and originator of this DVD is alien, and being very helpful to humanity. I can now confidently remove my tin-foil hat, knowing that all of what I've supposedly "imagined or hallucinated" (as told to me by my court-appointed psychiatrist-quack) is true! I've thrown away all my anti-psychotic meds, since I never really took them anyway...they made me feel strange. The voices tell me this was a good thing anyway.

I bought this DVD and cured my Autism
My cancer too. the only thing is, it left me with terrible flatulence, and now by city ordinance, I have to sell my home and go live on a deserted island.

That wouldn't be so bad, but the island has no electricity and I think it has deer ticks, and I would therefore be likely to contract Lyme disease. Please advise.

I think my Autism just came back, too.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

Looking to buy this? Go to Rightstuf
First I want to start off by saying for some weird reason Amazon doesn't have it in stock and some of the other sellers want over $100 dollars to buy it from them... Don't make me laugh. Head on over to Rightstuf and pay no more than $29.99 just like I did to get this amazing series finale of Code Geass.

Onto the review -
As one of Bandai's final releases I feel it was very well done, the packaging was a good sized case just like what they released Wolf's Rain Perfect Collection in. It held all 8 discs nicely without scratching up anything, although it had no inserts which doesn't really matter to me, it did get the job done and that's really all you can ask for if you ask me. This seasons box set is bigger than the first seasons as well, I'm not sure why season 1's set is smaller but it is if you don't already own it like I do.

This is the final season of Code Geass at the moment (a third season is planned in Japan but that's a completely different topic)...

Finally the R2 Box set
I watched this anime online a couple years ago and i was super impressed. The english voice acting was very good and the animation definately impressed me. So a year after watching it i decided i wanted to add this title to my anime library..........however i found there was the 1st season box set and then singles of r2 so i waited patiently and sure enough my patience was rewarded. Now when most people hear that its a thought provoking mech series all they hear is mech and go "oh its just another mech series" WRONG!!!!!!!!!! this series does have mechs but its more of an evil genius type of mech series, the main character lelouch will remind some people of light Yagami from death note in the sense of insanely smart highschool student wants to change the world because hes a bit unhappy with the way things are. now if you want the storyline then look it up because im just here to say that its a title worth having especially if you like thought provoking violence and espionage.

Watashiwa ZERO!
The first season was great, everyone can admit to that. But this!? THIS!??? This is amazing! Honestly the best of mecha-anime or anime period. Code Geass R2 transcends the boundaries of the original season. The character development is thrilling, the action is fast paced and exciting. The animation is fantastic and fresh! This is among my favorite series for that alone, but that's not all. There is SOOO much more to it, but I'd rather not spoil it for you. If you loved the first series, what are you waiting for? This box set has your name on it.

Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace (DVD & Book)

Great documentary for all backgrounds
Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace was the most attractive non-fiction film among dozens of great offerings at the 2012 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival. And it beat expectations. This is a great view for everyone...those with only a passing interest in the region as well as those with the deepest passion for the politics and peoples involved.

As a student of the Middle East region, and native son of Jimmy Carter's home state, I wanted to get a deeper look into the lengthy Camp David peace process. My companion at the movie brought zero knowledge of the region's political history. And we both loved it. Led us both towards better knowledge and curiosity about the world around us.

The movie gives a window into the intricacies of diplomacy away from cameras and other recording devices...and how those hidden channels help immensely towards peace. Thanks to the AJFF and the Price of Peace staff who worked hard to unveil this great movie.

Maybe there's hope for the Middle East
Being cynical about the prospects of peace in the region, I watched this film and was amazed at how a determined group of people, working often stealthily, without the glitz and glamour of the international spotlight, can help foreign leaders who are at opposite poles of the spectrum come together. It got me thinking that perhaps one day this sort of diplomacy, one based on secrecy, trust and pure human creativity and guts will be used to help out the problems all around the globe. The film is like a real version of Mission Impossible, it had me at the edge of my seat throughout. I highly recommend the film not only to those interested in world politics but for anyone who loves watching the impossible unfold.

A fantastic addition to what you thought you knew.
This is a great documentary about the Camp David Peace Treaty process and illuminates upon what it takes to negotiate, mediate, a very tough and imperfect agreement. Some things come out from the interviews. That America's position is that the settlements are an obstacle to peace from the USA perspective, and some influential Israelis too. However, nothing is mentioned about America's own captured territories from war. One way that this Camp David accord worked was that President Carter was willing to blame Anwar Sadat if the treaty did not go through and this brought Sadat to an agreement. However , at the second Camp David President Clinton said he was willing to blame Yassir Arafat if he did not accept Ahud Barak's generous offer of a two state solution, but did not really do so and Yassir Arafat did not agree in the end to the peace treaty which led to another bloody intifada, even with the peace with Egypt. Looking back, one can see the flaw in the Camp David agreement in that...

All's Faire in Love [Blu-ray]

Is there such a thing as a Costume Comedy?
Films like "Elizabeth" (with Cate Blanchett) and "The Other Boleyn Girl" have led to the genre of "Costume Drama". I'm just wondering if the same can be applied to a comedy. This movie was a light, romantic comedy. And I like these types of movies well enough. Having been to a number of "Renaissance Festivals" in a variety of states, I've seen some pretty spectacular costumes and some pathetic ones as well. This movie offers a glimpse into some of the better outfits a "rennie" could ever wear. Kudos to the Renaissance Costume Designer, Donna Buckley, for her work here. It's worth a look just to check them out! And jousting too!

Disappointing. Does not live up to expectations.
The premise is interesting; however, the execution leaves much to be desired. A jock in danger of failing is sentenced by his professor to work at a Renaissance Faire for three weeks in the summer. He comes into this role possessing an initial contempt and general disregard for the Faire and all involved. He does develop a bit more in personality and character as the film progresses; however, this story left me shaking my head many times. I love Renaissance Faires; however, I do not love this movie. If you do not have to pay to watch it, perhaps; however, it's mediocre at best and lame to offensive at worst.

If you go in with an open mind....
So I found out about this movie last year, during a class i was working in. I found out it had been shot at my school, Mott Community College, back in 2009. After much research on release dates i found it on amazon to rent last month. So i did, and found it quite funny. I didn't go in expecting anything, but i do enjoy most work by christina ricci, and matthew lillard. It was neat seeming a portion of my school in there, along with the Michigan ren. fest as most of the staging of the movie. But if you are looking for a few good laughs, this would be a good movie to see. The first 15 mins are kinda rough but if you get past that then you should be good.
